Switching to four wheels

Switching to four wheels

Yesterday (14th November) we made use of our reward which we had won for the second place in the group singing category on the “Walk of Day” programme held in August.

This team building programme was gokarting. The whole day could be called team building as our group visited the University of Kaposvar in the morning, where we learned much about the entry requirements. After everyone had put down their back-packs we met at the gokart ring. We looked for the indoor ring eagerly which was signposted. After we had found it, we were given safety instructions on the safe usage of the gokarts and the use of the equipment. Everyone was given masks and helmets. First, five boys of our group sat into the small but fast vehicles. The next eight minutes were spent in battles, concentration, petrol fumes and screeching tyres. Getting out, grinning sweaty faces emerged from the helmets. The girls were next. We thought their driving would be slow and careful. However, to tell the truth we have seen a different previously unknown side of the girls of the group. They drove with unbelievable speed hardly using brakes. Some of their time was in league with the boys’. Then we raced in mixed teams to beat our times. We could compare our results and increasing performance at the end of every lap.

At the end, everyone left happily full of adrenalin. We would like to thank the Foundation for this chance as well as the OVB for supporting the winners of the group singing. It was unforgettable. We hope to go in such places together in the future.
