Project closing week in Szentes

Project closing week in Szentes

“With the arrival of summer, the school year in Csányi is coming to an end, and with it the Health and Environment project. Our traditional end-of-year quiz became a multi-day event this year, with small teams competing against each other and time from Wednesday to Friday. First, the children had to prove their year-long skills at the computer science and maths stations. In the information room, the first challenge was a phone challenge for Generation Z. Many of them were excited, but the complexity of the task made many of them sweat. In maths, the challenge was to make the healthy cake edible by using the arithmetic they had learnt and to decipher the recipe. In the next challenge, the children had to build a nutritional pyramid, but from fractions to percentages to a gardening text exercise, many aspects of maths were explored. On Thursday, there were five stations of foreign languages to complete. Crosswords and words from health-themed fairy tales did not always prove easy. On Friday, the importance of hygiene, including hand hygiene, was discussed. We also included a competition organised by the Buda Health Centre, and anyone who wanted to could create a poster or a short film on the subject. The announcements of the results at the end of the day showed that it was a close competition, which is why we did not award prizes to the best teams. Instead, we were rewarded with a different kind of snack and delicious cakes prepared by the parents, and of course the joy of spending time together, thinking, brainstorming and playing together was the biggest prize, and a fitting way to say goodbye to the school year.” Márta Őzéné Törőcsik and Sándor Kovács mentors
