Parents’ Academy with the Bonafarm Group

Parents’ Academy with the Bonafarm Group

A session for the parents and kids of the group 1 and 2 from Nagybajom, specifically those who are about to choose a career, was held by Judit Cseh and Szimonetta Vuk from the Bonafarm group. After the introductions, parents and young people were able to learn about the Bonafarm Group’s areas of operation, its achievements and the diversity of its sectors by completing a virtual quiz together on their phones.

During the afternoon, the two groups split up. Under Judit’s guidance, the prospective students were given the opportunity to find out their personality type and characteristics by filling in a questionnaire. Then, using this information, they formed a group where they were able to integrate themselves into the work and tasks of the group’s sectors. Meanwhile, led by Simonetta, the parents discussed and shared their experiences with each other on topics such as what motivates their children when choosing a career. Who can they get help from and how much do they listen to their parents’ opinions and experiences? Parents could also draw ideas from each other’s stories.

To sum up the session, both groups evaluated the afternoon together. Both young people and parents shared that they had gained useful information, and some young people were specific about how they had confirmed or changed their plans for their career choices at tertiary level. And parents thanked and highlighted how much it means to them to be able to participate in events like this, where they too can get help or insight into the possibilities.

“I am pleased and thank the Foundation and the Bonafarm Group on behalf of our children for the insight into the range of professions available within the Group through applications and similar events. In this way we can weigh up options or possibly make decisions with more information in the face of an already difficult future outlook.” – Sándor Völfinger, parent

“The previous Bonafarm applications, such as the factory visits, or the “Practice makes perfect” application, where we can participate in professional days in the operation of a company, an economic sector, all give us the opportunity to get to know the job, the work processes and even make a decision on further education, or even on finding a future profession. Thank you for making these opportunities available to us every year.” – Boglárka Szalai, Nagybajom Group 2
