Tokaj Harald

Even the long and a bit tiring journey could not take our mood away from this foreign language camp in Tokaj for the reason that the programme is very promising. At the opening of the camp we were told what kind of spectecular places will we visit and in which group we are going to be. Today’s language lessons were just amazing. It did not feel like we were at school at all and just because we were studying in the Tokaj Wine Museum. We played a lot during classes and tried to talk in English as much as we could with Mr. Ham, our American volunteer. We even started to write interesting stories with Zsuzsa Néni. The German lessons went by with ease for we played and studied at the same time. Everyone befriended the so called „little mentors” rapidly and they helped us a lot. Nobody had time for killing time because we made candals and „devil-locks”. We even had a chance to try the museum’s interactive games and finally we get to taste the famous icecream of Tokaj. Just after we arrived at the camp the boys went to play football, obviously. We ended the day with some quiz and activity which was held by the little-mentors. To sum up we had a great day and this was only just the beginning of a wonderful week. Fekete Lilla és Székelyi Fruzsina

Tokaj Herald – 2 part
During the last two weeks we had unusual language classes and we reached the last stage of our film project too. In the English classes we created our scripts in English, of some of which we have already made our videos. At the end of our German classes we took our exams and passed. During our media activities, we learned how to handle a camera, we created animated films. In our communication classes we got to know the basics of documentary photography and we talked about how to write a good script. We kept bright spirits during our afternoon programs too. Canoeing turned out to be one of everybody’s favourites. Today’s boat trip was also memorable, everybody enjoyed it. The church from Saint Stephen’s time was interesting and we eagerly listened to the guide talk about the history of the unique earth fort.
In the evenings we can always choose from more than one program, everybody according to their likes and interests, either sport or crafts or even just a walk along the river bank. We get really tired by every evening, but it is always worth it. We can’t wait to see what’s yet to come. Kíra Gállfy, Vanessza Pintér

Tokaj Herald – last capital

We started today in Széphalom after the delicious breakfast, we checked the Museum of the Hungarian Language, where we enhanced our knowledge about Kazinczy and about the Hungarian language.
We visited the memorial and grave of the famous poet and linguist, who renewed the Hungarian language, we talked about love, and imagining to be in his shoes, we played with words of foregin origin which we had to translate into Hungarian. This was fallowed by a ride on the Alpine coaster in Sátoraljaújhely. First we took the cable lift up to the viewing tower, where we admired the landscape and only after this did we enjoy the speed on the Alpine coaster. Everybody was so excited that most of us couldn’t resist another ride, then we had a good laugh about the pictures taken of us during our ride. After a delicious ice cream, we continued our trip to Sárospatak. There we visited the castle and we listened to some interesting stories told by our mentors. Once again we closed the day with a quiz for a break. Antónia Polgár
