Swimming camp

Swimming camp

The children started this morning with a bit more confidence, since they were familiar with the schedule. They were already introduced to the intricacies of swimming yesterday and everyone had to opportunity to start the learning process at their own pace. The swimming instructor divided the children into two groups based on their skills in order to make the learning process more dynamic. Although some were afraid at first, they also proved their worth at horse riding. Everyone was eager to overcome difficulties, whether it be a new swimming technique or riding the horse. Throughout the day, between activities there was also some time to relax. Afternoon we had our lunch and I held a presentation about healthy lifestyle to the children. I think it is very important to grip to attention of children at this stage in this matter. Everyone returned home with good new experiences, albeit a bit tired and looking forward to the coming days.

On the third day of the swimming camp the intermediate group learned more advanced swimming techniques while the beginner group finally tried the deeper pool. Since the horse had a day off the we entertained the children with interesting activites. First, they had to set a goal which they want to achieve in 5 years time and write it on a piece of paper. We will take out these papers again in that many years time and see how many (hopefully all) children managed to achieve their goals. They also received small gifts which give useful advice about life. The second activity was a diving competition. Both the beginner and intermediate group did great and had a lot of fun. After lunch I held a short presentation about the water sports history of Hungary, since I think it is important for them to know how many great achievements out sportsmen and women had. As usual, the children returned a bit tired but with a lot of great new experiences.
