Health and environment project – A multi-faceted day

“After a hard week, the Group 1 set to work on their next project day in the spring weather. After an evaluation of the semester and a discussion on the further studies ahead, a training session on self and group awareness was waiting for the young people. Later, our “Healthy Food – Healthy Life” session focused on mushrooms, which are perhaps sometimes undeservedly overlooked, and the importance of vegetables. In the theoretical part of the session, we learned about the life of microscopic and fruiting fungi, their role in the living world, food chain, human consumption and health, and the impact of vitamins and fibre on our bodies in vegetables. In the exercise, we will try to create four small bagged vegetable gardens on a straw base, the hopeful harvest of which we will eat together, and for lunch we will prepare our own vegetable salad. In the afternoon, we started to tidy up the courtyard of our community house in anticipation of the approaching spring. We spent a rich and colourful day together.” Sándor Kovács Mentor, Szentes Group 1

“By demonstrating the use of body and space and using theme dice, we reflected on our individual reactions through the hidden dimensions of social relationships, thus enriching self-awareness. At the end of the session, we tried to interact using a string, avoiding verbal communication.” Dorottya Kékegyi volunteer.
